State of the Arts is the Montana Arts Council's quarterly publication which provides arts news, features on Montanans working in the arts, and updates about our grants and programs. Published four times each year, State of the Arts includes a statewide arts calendar of events along with coverage of the visual, literary, and performing arts throughout the state. Each print and digital issues is offered free of charge to all individuals and organizations, and we welcome relevant content submissions for every issue. To suggest content or make a submission, email us at mac@mt.gov.
State of the Arts publishes four times a year in early January, April, July, and October. While we can't print every story on the arts in Montana, we're always looking for news of great people, organizations, and events to share with our readers. If you'd like to alert us to a story you think we should cover, or if you'd like to submit your own for consideration, here's what you need to know.

Formatting
Please submit text articles in Microsoft Word format. Images should be high-resolution JPG or TIFF files, but our email attachment size is limited. If your files total more than 5mb, please contact us to arrange file transfer.
