Here in the “Land of Creativity,” the Arts Council works tirelessly to ensure Montanans everywhere have access to excellent arts experiences. We know the creative industries enrich Montana in many ways:

• Montana families and communities are fortified by the educational, civic, health and economic effects of the arts.
• The arts support healing for veterans and members of the military—and their families and caregivers.
• The arts celebrate Montana and preserve our unique culture
• Art facilitates good health—in clinical settings, in social gatherings, in mental health, and in addressing numerous public health goals.
• The arts benefit older adults, enrich retirement life, reduce isolation, improve physical conditioning, and bring a heightened sense of purpose and joy to Montanans as they mature.
• Students who engage in the arts do better in school and in life, through better attendance, lower dropout rates, higher test scores, stronger communication and collaboration skills, and measurably stronger levels of endurance, connection, and joy.

Montana’s creativity is one of its greatest treasures. The Montana Arts Council supports, celebrates, and strengthens the creative ecosystem so all Montanans may benefit.
